Thai Bamboo Ratsnake
Oreocryptophis Porphyraceus Coxi
Thai Bamboo Ratsnakes are one of the most visually attractive snakes, being bright red with two ‘racing stripes’ going from neck to tail. They are usually active early morning and in the evenings. They will climb given the opportunity but they will also burrow under a soil based substrate. The Thai Bamboo Ratsnake is the only one of the Bamboo species which retains patterning and colouration into adulthood, although the bright colour will get a little deeper as they age.
