Vietnamese Blue Beauty
Orthriophis taeniurus callicyanous
Vietnamese Blue Beauties are one of the largest colubrid species. This species is long and slender and is usually a blue-grey colour with cream highlights and darker blue markings in differing patterns that change as they extend down the body. Black stripes run through and behind the eyes where the underside of the mouth is usually a bright white. They are a very active species and you will see them out mainly in the daytime, they are known to be nervous and defensive snakes but it depends on the individual snake. Hatchlings can be green in colour and grow to be bright blue.
